We know people like him; they dot the landscape of American politics.  He was a reasonably clever politician who managed to do at least a halfway decent job of governing.  He wasn't the world's greatest leader, but he usually managed to keep out of trouble.  Apparently, he had no real firm convictions, and this enabled him to walk a tightrope that kept his bosses in Rome pleased with his performance and the local Jews under reasonable control.  It was not an easy task.

But the time came (and it does for all of us) in which he had to make a serious decision based on his own convictions rather than continue his balancing act--and he failed miserably.  2000 years later, he is best remembered for his wishy-washy decision that was really no decision at all.

Do you know who I'm talking about?  (Email me to let me know or come on Sunday and find out.)  More importantly, make sure that you are not guilty of the same kind of balancing act between right and wrong, between the tough choice and the right choice.

I hope to see you Sunday, when our Jerusalam 30 A.D. series of worship services continue.

PS.  Don't forget that this is a great series to invite others!

Prayer Requests

Melinda Marslender – a busy couple of weeks, kids camp and youth camp. Pray for changed hearts.

Tim Frank – Ron Boniella, his wife and kids are living in Flagstaff while he is working in Phoenix. He is not a Christian. His wife was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Karen Frank – Travel – we will be absent next Sunday – going to California for spring break.

Heidi Strate – peace and rest for my dad with his new schedule.

Clark and Deborah Leuthold – Abby and Sydney that they will enjoy going to kid’s camp. That they’ll receive Christ.

Turn in prayer request on a Connection Card or by emailing Pastor Jack.

Homeless Connect

Our sister church, FSBCA, is co-hosting a homeless event on March 23 with Valley of the Sun United Way designed to be a "one-stop" event in which homeless people get a meal, a shower, a haircut, and contact with a wide variety of social agencies in the valley.  It's also hellpful for anyone in danger of losing a home!

We still need people who are skilled at cutting hair.  Please contact office manager Naomi Hutchison if you can help.

FSBCA invites EFBC members to a dramatic presentation of the Last Supper on Sunday, March 28, at 6:00 pm.  The Last Supper is based on De Vinci's painting, except that each disciple comes out of his "pose" to tell his story.  It's a captivating look into the lives of the disciples.
